My husband wanted something that could teach our son words in English.
We live in London. At home, we speak Italian. Our son understands everything. He is simply quiet about it — the way children are when they take in more than they show.
The idea stayed with me.
So I started looking.
Not for a toy. For something I would actually want in our home. Something that wouldn't compete with everything else. Something calm.
What I found, again and again, was disappointing.
Plastic things that flash and beep. Cheap devices designed to stimulate, not to teach. Books with crowded pages. Nothing bilingual. Nothing that treated the object as enough.
I didn't want to add noise to his world. I wanted to give him words.
This book is the result.

What age is it for?
From birth to three years. The thick board pages and rounded corners are safe for babies, and the clear illustrations and bilingual format grow with the child as they begin to recognise and name objects.
Is it suitable if only one language is spoken at home?
Yes. Many families use it to introduce a second language gently, alongside the one spoken at home. The bilingual format makes both languages visible and accessible without pressure.
